goomi are a trio of musicians from Chiba prefecture who self describe their style of music as "Undergound Pop.” Harboring a knack for composing catchy, timeless vocal melodies, the lyrics often cover grittier subjects such as suicide, depression and family dysfunction. The instrumentation is incredibly diverse weaving elements of math rock, shoegaze, classical, folk, experimental, post-punk, electronic and melodic pop. Frequent use of the violin and glockenspiel add a fresh dimension to the sonic landscape which is further exalted by the sublimely harmonized male/female vocals.
Goomi's 'subterranean' music is "pop" that is unpretentious, honest and brilliant from the ground on up.
(note: NMFT’s first math-pop band before there was an Uchu Conbini)
