The Taupe was a psychedelic post-punk band whose music incorporated noise, new wave and post-rock. They participated in NMFT volumes 10 & 12 and blew the audience away with their chaotic live performances.
午前3時と退屈 (Gozen Sanji to Taikutsu) was a predominantly female band with a quirky, emotive pop sound that blended everything from shoegaze to metal hardcore to new wave into their music. They participated in NMFT volumes 9 & 11 and were a HUGE hit with fans.
Unfortunately, both bands broke up in 2019 and although they never toured together in Canada, key members from both bands decided to form an all-star group that would be a guaranteed shoe-in for NMFT in the future. They recruited Naoto Matsuda, a phenom on bass whose band MANHOLE NEW WORLD also broke up last year.
The name of this brand-new band is BATROICA METAL SUMMER JACKET.
