午前3時と退屈 (Gozen Sanji to Taikutsu) means 3am and Bored and the four young night owls that comprise this band are recent university graduates.  The band hails from Tachikawa–a suburb in the western outskirts of Tokyo and the same hometown as Akai Koen and Regal Lily.  In fact, their music is
heavily influenced by early Akai Koen having the same penchant for extreme quirkiness and variety in both emotional depth and tone.

A Japanese promoter coined them ‘the female Black Sabbath’ and some of their songs are very dark and heavy but that is one small facet of the huge spectrum of styles, moods and speeds they switch to and from between songs.  A fun, whimsical attitude with an unpretentious yet profound flair for experimentation
is what makes Gozen Sanji to Taikutsu such an unpredictable and immensely enjoyable band.

Originally an all-female band, the original guitarist quit shortly before Gozen Sanji to Taikutsu came to Canada as part of NMFT8.  New guitarist Hoshi Wataru ups the ante on the technical side and has been quite active in writing songs as well.  Gozen Sanji were an unequivocal hit with Canadian audiences last year and they are anxious to show off their new look, improved chops and the two new CDs they've recorded since their last visit.
